Industrial lime production in the world
Lime is an important and irreplaceable commodity for many industries such as construction, food, pulp and paper, metallurgy, environment ... In Vietnam, industrial lime production is being started of concern and are often associated with cement plants due to the advantage of limestone materials. To give readers an overview of industrial production in the world and development orientation in Vietnam, ximang.vn would like to introduce the topic of this field.
Along with the development of the technology in general, the lime industry has also grown from primitive to modern, from simple to complex, with improved quality of lime.
Long strides
Because of the characteristics of lime products used by many industries as input materials for the production of the products mentioned above, therefore in most countries in the world there are lime production lines to Serving for other industries. However, according to the industrial development of each country, investment in lime production lines in the form of manual production or modern industrial production with two types of kilns are vertical kiln and rotary kiln. Blast furnace technology is more commonly used and accounts for the majority of the lime industry today. In Europe, in 2006, the number of lime kilns accounted for only 7.7% of total lime kilns.
Lime hydration line
According to statistics in 2006, in 27 European countries there are 46 lime kilns, of which 26 are rotary kilns and 20 rotary kilns have pre-drying towers. Current types of furnaces include rotary kiln and rotary kiln with pre-drying tower. Vertical boilers currently used include blast furnace blast furnace, parallel blast furnace, furnace furnace and some other furnaces. In 2006 there were 551 vertical boilers in Europe, of which 158 were in parallel, 74 in furnace, 116 in mixed furnace and 203 in other types. There are also other kilns, but the number of used is not popular such as multi-chamber boiler, central chamber combustion boiler, external combustion boiler, rotary kiln, rotary heating furnace.
Worldwide, lime kilns are commonly used with a capacity of 50-500 tonnes per day, with only about 10% of kilns having a capacity of less than 50 or 500 tonnes per day. The number of lime kilns in the countries listed above does not include self-sufficient lime kilns for other industrial plants.
Unstable growth
In the period from 2009 to 2012, world lime output continued to grow, however, the pace was not as high as in previous periods. According to US survey data, in 2010, world lime production reached 311 MT increased by 11% compared to 2009; In 2011 it was 331 million tons, up from 6.4% in 2010; 2012 was 340 million tons, up 2.7%. Lime production in the world is shown in the following table:

In Vietnam, up to now, the lime industry in Vietnam has been largely produced by hand-burned technology and produced enormous emissions that pollute the environment. industrial lime to gradually replace the hand-lime kiln is a urgent and indispensable trend. As is expected, the lime industry development project is expected to eliminate 100% of handmade lime kilns by 2020 and completely eliminate manual refineries by 2025. How to develop Vietnam lime industry? meeting the needs of other industries, even export, ensuring the modern technology, environmental protection, is a challenge for investors and managers.
